COMMUNICATIONS ROLE - CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY (Part-Time)
Join our Advancement team as a Communications Assistant and help shape our school’s narrative with your exceptional communication skills. In this six-month part-time contract position, you will thrive as part of the dynamic environment crafting impactful communication pieces with high levels of accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.
About the role
The Communications Assistant assists the Marketing Communications Coordinator in carrying out the marketing and communications plan and ensuring all communications, publications and associated tasks are performed.
As a 0.4 FTE role, there is flexibility which days of the week these days are worked. There is potential for the extension of this contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and/or edit internal communications.
- Liaise with administration and teaching staff regarding the distribution of email communication.
- Assist, where required, in the development and editing of stories and copy for various publications.
Essential Personal Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and to meet tight deadlines with competing priorities.
- Patience, sensitivity and flexibility when dealing with a range of situations and people, including the ability to respond to staff and student needs.
- Demonstrated ability of excellent written, interpersonal, communication and public relations skills.
- Ability to ensure high levels of confidentiality are maintained.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to work practices and management strategies.
- Be able to demonstrate efficient organisational skills and initiative.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as the ability to work collaboratively and to encourage positive team commitment and contributions through his/her own commitment, enthusiasm, and energy.
- Attention to detail and thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Ability to be flexible with working hours and duties.
- Experience in a similar role in a school is highly desirable.
