Huntington’s Australia is a national leader in the delivery of services to support, empower and improve the lives of people impacted by Huntington’s Disease (HD). In addition to targeted counselling and support activities we provide NDIS services, and education and training for the medical, allied health, aged care and community sectors.
This important role, which could be done from any city in which we operate (Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Sydney or Perth), is part of the national Business Development, Fundraising and Partnerships Team and is responsible for the communications and media strategy promoting Huntington’s Australia’s services and revenue generation activities, maximising our social media engagement across all platforms, and developing educational materials.
More about the Role:
The role is responsible for:-
- Developing and expanding awareness of Huntington’s Disease and the role and services offered by Huntington’s Australia.
- Developing and rolling out HA’s communications and media strategies including traditional and digital media platforms, the website and social media channels.
- Developing promotional and educational materials for a variety of audiences (general community, general and specific health sectors, corporate and private donors.)
- Publishing a regular program of updates for community events and activities that promote health and wellbeing for the HD community.
- Promoting fundraising events.
- Overseeing the production of the annual report.
- Developing indicators for measuring the impact (success) of communication activities.
- Contributing to grant applications, compliance material and reports.
To be successful you most likely have:-
- Minimum tertiary bachelor’s qualification in a relevant field, such as Communications, Digital Communications or Marketing. A qualification in Graphic Design would be highly regarded.
- Experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – including ability to develop content for diverse audiences.
- Excellent knowledge of current trends and application of social media platforms.
- High levels of creativity and initiative.
- Excellent attention to details.
- The ability to balance multiple projects.
Additions requirements:
You must be eligible to work in Australia. You will need a National Police Clearance, a NDIS Worker Clearance (this is required as part of our NDIS registration) and an unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
