Position: Communications & Community Relations Officer
Contract: Full-time permanent position
Start date: ASAP
Hours: Monday – Friday, 38 hours per week.

About the Role
We seek to appoint a qualified and experienced Communications & Community Relations Officer for a full-time permanent position. This role will oversee parent communications and whole school marketing, as well as provide administrative support for senior management and the wider school community.

To be successful, you will have:
• Tertiary qualifications in Communication, Mass Media, Marketing or Public Relations or equivalent qualifications to successfully carry out the duties of the position.
• Minimum of 5 years experience working within a school environment and/or understanding the nuances of school marketing and how it differs from that of other marketing industries.
• A current Childcare First Aid & CPR certificate or willingness to obtain prior to starting.
• A current Blue Card or undertake employment screening for child-related employment and maintain a positive Blue Card or willingness to obtain prior to starting.
• Experience with customer service and administration is highly valued.
• Highly developed and adaptive written communication skills with the ability to maintain strong attention to detail and take pride in the quality of work produced.
• An exceptional ability to edit and proofread and high proficiency in producing quality written content at short notice and/or under time sensitivity.
• Photography/videography skills – utilising a tripod, lapel microphone, gimbals, etc.
• Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with staff and stakeholders across the school community and liaise with people at all levels in an informative, accurate and positive manner.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise, organise, and complete work within established deadlines and maintain a consistent level of professionalism.
• Sound knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite, and programs including, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro, iMovie, Canva to produce creative marketing collateral.
• Ability to project manage large-scale marketing projects effectively within a busy team environment and to also work unsupervised.
• Strong website / social media publishing skills.
• Undertake Ad-Hoc administrative duties as requested by the Business Manager.
• An understanding of the school’s vision, objectives and workplace values (previous experience in Montessori environments or schools will be valued).
