Are you passionate about making a difference and keen to play a role in elevating First Nations women from around the country? We’re looking for a communications all-rounder to take our strategy to the next level.
About the charity
Ember Connect believes that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women should live lives of choice, in a society where they are valued.
We aim to inspire a new generation of growth and develop the capacity of women and the communities where they live and work.
We are using an innovative new model for empowerment to:
- elevate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to know and fulfil their aspirations
- connect women to key people, pathways, and opportunities
- influence systemic change through advocacy and education

Description
- Implement a communications, marketing, PR, and media strategy.
- Deliver an annual content calendar including social media, website, videos, newsletters etc.
- Act as the Communications Specialist, supporting the team to identify and prioritise key audiences to ensure communications activities are targeted, tailored, and measured to enhance reach and impact.
- Provide insightful reporting on relevant areas of responsibility.
About our successful candidate
Ideally you will have five plus years of professional experience with a focus on communication’s strategy development and implementation. You will also have a genuine passion for empowering women. You will and someone with a sound understanding of the societal issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. As the charity is still in the early stages of its development, you should be a team player who values collaboration and maintains a flexible mindset.
Key Requirements:
- Degree qualifications or higher in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing comprehensive and effective communications and marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in managing websites, online content, e-marketing and social media.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of events.
- Significant experience in writing, editing, and producing a broad range of publications, media, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience in public relations, media relations and corporate communications.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing key presentations and reports.
