Committee for Perth has an exciting opportunity for an External Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist in our Perth CBD office. Reporting to the CEO, you will play a key role in planning and executing the External Communications strategy to support and demonstrate impact. We are looking for someone with a strong background in external Stakeholder Engagement skills, a passion for joining the dots and connecting ideas to aid our work in advocating for the Perth region as a place to live, work, invest, study and visit.
Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in communications or journalism
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with business, government or media
- Excellent and in-depth knowledge of politics, media and business in Perth
- Excellent priority and time management skills, with the ability to undertake a number of tasks simultaneously to a consistently high standard
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with development of communication plans for external audiences
Key responsibilities
- Engage with media, Government and politicians to amplify our message and aid our advocacy efforts
- Build connections with research institutions focused on Perth to connect and see how we can work together or promote activities
- Understand key stakeholders’ policy priorities for event ideas, editorial and CEO updates
- Plan, track and measure media activity for impact
- Work with the team on event speaker ideas and opportunities
- Develop editorial ideas to expand the profile of Committee for Perth
- Develop ideas and opportunities to advance a future focused conversation for Perth
- As a small team you will need to roll up your sleeves and help with events
