What you'll be doing
The Community Care Aide assists Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) clients with personal care, domestic tasks, transport and community access. The Community Care Aide also assists clients with the therapy and exercise programs prescribed by Allied Health Professionals.
Recruits to the casual pool will need to demonstrate willingness to work across multiple sites/facilities within WSLHD to support service continuity in response to demand due to the need to surge and backfill allied health assistant workforce. This will also include working across WSLHD community sites to assist with COVID-19 related activities depending on the workforce demands.
Applicants to the Community Care Aide casual pool may also be required to support a broader range of activities within their scope of practice to ensure WSLHD is able to effectively respond to the changing needs of the COVID-19 health emergency.
Successful applicants may also be provided with short-term 13-week contracts depending on workforce needs across WSLHD.

Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
Selection Criteria * Holding or willing to obtain Certificate III in Aged Care or holding relevant qualification.
  • Experience in community based personal home care in an Aged Care and/or disability setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimum direct clinical supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
  • Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles and how it applies to the duties of the position.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence
