About the role
A typical week in the Shire of Murray Community Development team could look like this:
- Delivery of innovative Community Development initiatives.
- Developing programs to enhance and activate community spaces.
- Working with community groups to build their capacity and assisting them to achieve their goals.
- Identifying funding opportunities to deliver strategic outcomes.
- Promoting events and activities to a broad audience to increase participation.
- Networking with not-for-profit organisations and service providers to build relationships to increase services in the Shire of Murray.

The position on offer is a part-time role, working 38 hours per fortnight. An EBA Level 6 salary of $78,294.98 to $83,473.75 per annum (pro rata) dependent upon skills and experience.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Community Development or a related field and/or substantial demonstrated experience in a similar role.
Skills in communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution are essential, and experience in writing and managing successful grant submissions are highly regarded.
A demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work positively within a small team environment, with a focus on a “can-do” and supportive approach.
