We offer
  • Salary range between $83,801 - $90,639 per annum depending on skills/experience, + superannuation.
  • Salary packaging (up to $15,899 a year, + meal/entertainment benefit of $2,650 a year). 
  • 5 weeks annual leave per year + 17.5% leave loading 
  • Christmas shut down period credited as additional leave.
  • 7 weeks LSL vested after 7 years of service.

About us

Yued Aboriginal Corporation represents the Traditional Owners of the Yued region of the southwest of Western Australia. We work to manage native title benefits, while also advancing and strengthening Noongar culture, language, heritage, and society. 

The Yued region refers to the Noongar language or dialectal group north of Perth, in an area approximately 115,000 Sq Km. 

The role

Reporting to the CEO, you will develop and facilitate meaningful engagement with Noongar people to guide programs, projects, and events that support the objectives of the Yued Aboriginal Corporation, and deliver on all outcomes of the Yued Indigenous Land Use Agreement.

Location 

This position operates out of Moora with regular travel across the Yued Region.  

Hours

Permanent full-time.

You will: 

Stakeholder Engagement 

  1. Act as a conduit between the Corporation, Yued agreement group members, and wider stakeholders across the Yued region. 
  2. Attend all local events and forums on behalf of the corporation as required.
  3. Build rapport with Yued agreement group members to promote the Yued ILUA through the development of appropriate resources and mediums.

Community Development 

  1. Provide support to the Yued community, agreement group members, and beneficiaries relating to the  Yued ILUA.
  2. Assist the Corporation with the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies that will increase the availability and accessibility to a range of conservation and land management, economic development strategies, and Community Development opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with community organisations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives that build connected and inclusive communities and respond to the needs of the Yued membership and region.
  4. Develop and implement culturally appropriate protocols and processes that strengthen the Corporation's engagement with it's membership base and the Yued community at large.
  5. Liaise and support internal stakeholders with regional planning outcomes and projects through the delivery of the Yued ILUA. 

Relationship Building 

  1. Demonstrates effective leadership, decision making qualities, and participate in the effective functioning of the community.
  2. Support the development and implementation of community engagement and other projects to provide and promote awareness and understanding for agreement group members and the wider community.
  3. Foster positive relationships with local communities, Traditional Owners, Traditional Custodians, and knowledge holders through active participation in community events, initiatives, partnership, and general networking.

Project Management 

  1. Manage projects to deliver and achieve the outcomes of the Yued ILUA.
  2. Ensure reporting and advice is within the prescribed frameworks, reporting templates, and meets all levels of compliance.
  3. Plan, manage, and report on other duties as assigned.
  4. Actively participate in all Community Development processes on behalf of the Corporation as identified to continue development of local and placed based programs and outcomes.
 
Selection Criteria:

  2. Experience in the application of Community Development principles and practices.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal society and cultures and the issues affecting Aboriginal communities coupled with experience communicating and/or presenting information to groups of Aboriginal people. 
  4. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a cross-cultural context. 
  5. Demonstrated organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and document processes and progress.
  6. Ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
