The Community Development Officer will work collaboratively alongside the Resident Services team to develop, deliver and revise programs and services that build and improve our resident’s social wellbeing.
What will your new day look like?
- You will proactively develop community partnerships which support the needs of our residents;
- Develop, implement and manage Community Engagement strategies and activities;
- Establish strong relationships with local businesses, community groups, networks and Government and Non-Government organisations and work collaboratively with these partners to deliver outcomes for our residents
- Consult with our residents and seek feedback so that our programs are guided by the residents;
- Plan and facilitate social outings and activities of which meet the needs of our residents;
- Effectively communicate across all business departments and units to support the education and knowledge of staff on Resident Engagement opportunities and programs;
- Identify and undertake grant submissions of which benefit the needs of our residents, and if successful, implement and oversee grants and funding;
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets and systems of which capture data and support the delivery of programs and ensure reporting systems are kept up to date;
- Identify innovative ideas of which empower residents to engage and participate with our services and programs;
- Facilitate program reviews and provide written analysis and reports on findings

Some important things you will need to begin this journey!
- Tertiary qualifications in social science, community services, humanities or similar discipline
- Significant proven experience working with community groups and organisations
- A proactive, go getting approach to developing new relationships
- Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and develop and maintain productive partnerships that are outcome focused
- Sound understanding of Community Housing and challenges faced by Community Housing tenants
- Engagement skills and demonstrated ability to engage with vulnerable people
- Demonstrated application of effective and appropriate communication skills at a high level, including written skills, cultural sensitivity. Listening and interviewing
- Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise competing deadlines
- Strong computer literacy and confidence in using and learning software applications (ie. MS Office Word & Excel) and in particular Intermediate levels of Excel
- Valid Criminal Check, NDIS check and Working with Children Check
- Current drivers licence with the right to drive in Australia
