The Role

We have an exciting new position within our growing Communities team as Community Development Officer - Community Wellbeing.

As Community Development Officer - Community Wellbeing, you will work with individuals, communities and organisations of Hedland in a meaningful, collaborative and capacity building manner. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in Port Hedland as you plan, implement and evaluate Community Development initiatives with an emphasis on Community Wellbeing and support.

To succeed in this position, you will have demonstrated experience working within Community Development as well as knowledge on the challenges and opportunities affecting our community. Experience in leading the planning and administration of the Community Development networks will also play a key role as you work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate community engagement processes to enhance engagement with the local community.

You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capital works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

• Demonstrated experience in the Community Development sector and/or tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Community Development or Social Science
  
• National Police Clearance
  
• Current 'C' class drivers license
  
• Rights to work in Australia
