An iconic location, Esperance is situated on Western Australia's southeast coast about 725 km from Perth by road and 1.5 hour direct flight. About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to provide support to community groups, clubs and community organisations through a position as a Community Development Officer. This position provides effective administration and coordination of the Shire of Esperance Community Grants Program, maintains and nurtures communication channels with the community sector and works with fellow Community Development and Events staff to assist with planning, implementation and delivery of appropriate programs, events and projects.
This role will see the successful applicant:
Provide support and guidance to community organisations to assist them in achieving their goals.
Maintain and nurture communication channels with the community sector including undertaking effective consultation, producing and disseminating information and promotional material.
Coordinate the design of projects, workshops and programs.
Provide an active presence in the community groups including attendance to out of business hours meetings and functions, representing Council where appropriate.
This position is part time, 34 hours per week.

Qualifications and experience relevant to the position.
Experience working with community groups and organisations.
Experience in preparing and managing grant submissions and funds.
Well developed interpersonal and networking skills
Benefits
Salary: $70,597.00 per annum, plus superannuation
