Community Development Officer

Location: Parramatta
Salary: $90k + super + NFP benefits 
Type: Full Time - Fixed term Contract until Feb 2025 with the possibility of extension

The Client:
Welfare Recruitment Solutions have been approached by an industry leading not-for-profit organisation to assist in the recruitment of a Community Development Officer. The housing provider aim is to relive housing stress by building socially inclusive communities and influencing public policy. Therefore offering housing solutions to those eligible on low incomes and unable to access housing in the private markets.

The Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for the development of community partnerships which support the needs of the residents. Working collaboratively with the Community Engagement Officer to develop, deliver and revise programs and services that build resident’s capacity and, improve their social wellbeing.

The Community Development Officer is responsible for the administrative function of the Resident Engagement team and will develop and maintain the appropriate record keeping functions and report as required.

You will also be required to develop and maintain external relationships, undertake grant submissions and foster opportunities of which support the needs of our residents.

The Successful Candidate:
In order to be successful in this role, you will have the following:

1. Tertiary qualifications in social science, community services, humanities or similar discipline

2. Significant proven experience working with community groups and organisations

3. A proactive, go getting approach to developing new relationships

4. Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and develop and maintain productive partnerships that are outcome focused

5. Sound understanding of Community Housing and challenges faced by Community Housing tenants

6. Current drivers licence with the right to drive in Australia
