Do you have a passion for urban agriculture, community engagement, and positive sustainability outcomes?
We are seeking an experienced Community Greening, Gardens and Volunteering Coordinator to lead the strategic and operational aspects of the City’s community garden and bushcare volunteer programs and support other volunteer greening activities, in line with Council policies and procedures.
You will ideally have tertiary qualifications and /or extensive experience in horticulture and/or broad knowledge and experience in community development, engagement, education and environmental/sustainability along with experience in community education program delivery, developing partnerships, project and contract management, and volunteer management within a dynamic and challenging environment.
Excellent communication skills are required, as is a proven track record in balancing and responding flexibly to competing priorities, and to work effectively both as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
The position is involved in working with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders, providing technical sustainable horticulture, food system and composting advice, and fostering and supporting community participation.
