The Port of Newcastle is developing a Clean Energy Precinct, converting a 220-hectare industrial site into a state-of-the-art Clean Energy hub. This transformative initiative aims to position Newcastle and the Hunter region as global leaders in producing, storing, and exporting Clean Energy technologies, including hydrogen and green ammonia.
YOUR NEW ROLE We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Community Liaison Representative to join their Corporate Affairs team, focusing on enhancing community engagement for this major, region-changing project. In this role, you will be responsible for building positive relationships, addressing community concerns, and promoting the project's initiatives and activities.
- Lead Community Engagement: Develop and oversee community reputation and positioning strategies, stakeholder consultation, and engagement for major projects.
- Strategic Program Development: Implement and measure community sentiment and success of PON's major project strategies.
- Content Creation: Draft speeches and presentations for the CEO and leadership team, incorporating an understanding of emerging issues and community expectations.
- Regulatory Alignment: Ensure community relations functions comply with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work with internal stakeholders to ensure community impacts and opportunities are considered.
- Community Representation: Maintain relationships with community members and key influencers to support the Port’s diversification agenda and commercial objectives.
- Degree in Communications/Public Relations or a related discipline.
- Solid hands-on experience in corporate communications and strategy execution. Stakeholder engagement experience in government, industry, or corporate settings is a plus.
- Thrive in developing and executing projects to a plan while adapting to a constantly changing environment.
