About the Role
We are looking for passionate Disability Support Workers to fulfil Community Outreach support and administrative duties for a program based in Port Macquarie, Kempsey and Coffs Harbour locations. You will have the opportunity to work within a supportive team environment while also having the autonomy to make a meaningful difference in the lives of participants.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience as a Disability Support Worker, supporting participants across ages from youth to elderly
- Ability to work both within a team and autonomously
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Genuine desire to support people with additional needs using a person-centered approach, understand participant needs and support planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with intake reviews, assessments & referral processes
- Liaising with service & support staff and provide assistance with complex cases.
- Competent in working with people with a disability and or Mental Health diagnosis
Mandatory Requirements
To apply for this role, you must have the following documentation:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Employee Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Check conducted within the last 6 months
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates
- Valid Australian driver's license (with a reliable and comprehensively insured car)
- A nationally recognised Certificate IV or Diploma in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or any related fields
