Our client is a passionate provider of community education programs and delivers a range of services to First Nations students within their mentoring programs. These programs are based in high schools in Queensland and Northern New South Wales and are supported by the Australian and Queensland Government.
About the Role
Following a recent expansion, our client are looking to expand their Program Management team. This will be a 6-month contract with a possibility of extension.
Reporting to the General Manager - Community & Government Programs, and working across a diverse geographical area, this role is accountable for building collaborative relationships and partnerships between the organisation and its stakeholders including schools, government, community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants and their families.
Key deliverables include:
- Program Management:
- Lead the planning, development and delivery of Indigenous Career Pathways and mentoring programs to a high standard ensuring compliance with Government requirements;
- Manage program performance to ensure contractual and organisational KPIs are met;
- Network with local industry, communities, and community contacts to continue to grow the quality of the programs; and
- Identify complementary programs and establish effective partnerships.
- Partnerships and Stakeholder Management:
- Provide leadership and governance, ensuring all actions and interactions protect the organisation's brand and the integrity of the program, ensuring consistent and timely communication and engagement in all internal and external forums; and
- Develop, foster and maintain strategic working relationships with key stakeholders including employers, school staff, government representatives and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to inform, educate and provide support which aids the program objectives.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and develop a team to deliver against planned objectives, identifying areas for employee development, and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback;
- Lead and manage team performance including staff, protocols, disciplines and processes; and
- Foster a productive team environment across a variety of locations, including out posted staff.
- Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation:
- Management of all government contractual processes relating to the education and careers programs;
- Monitor, evaluate and report on program outcomes and performance on a monthly basis;
- Report and provide analysis and insights on program outcomes; and
- Assist in the preparation of new proposals and presentations as needed.
About You
You will be a skilled Program Manager with significant experience working in a role involving First Nations engagement. You will have strong cultural connection and demonstrated ability to network with diverse First Nations stakeholders and community groups.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Education, Training, Youth or Community Services are desirable);
- Recent experience working in a similar role (preferably over five years' experience);
- Experience in employment, education, health and / or mentoring program delivery;
- Proven reporting skills and experience managing and adhering to government contracts;
- Proven ability to coordinate and motivate teams, set goals, establish priorities and meet deadlines and monitor and improve performance to establish high quality project outcomes;
- High level of technology literacy including the ability to use Word, Outlook, web-based programs and portals, data collection tools and other software;
- Current valid and paid QLD Blue Card; and
- Full Class C drivers license.
