Community Programs Manager 

  • Lead, Innovate, Serve: Join Our Team as a Community Programs Manager and drive positive change across our community. 
  • Fixed-term contract until June 30, 2025

The St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc is a major international charitable and voluntary organisation that has been operating in South Australia since 1884. Our principal role is to provide for, or alleviate, the needs of disadvantaged people in the community.

The Community Programs Manager will play a crucial role in leading our newly established Community Services and Programs team. Your main responsibility is to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to all clients while fostering positive relationships and driving innovation within our community initiatives to deliver impactful services that meet the evolving needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support to a diverse community services and programs team, ensuring high-quality service provision, effective decision-making, risk management, and advocacy for community needs.
  • Lead innovative program design and development aligned with organisational strategic goals, regularly evaluating community services and programs.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with funding targets, budgets, and legislation, while advising the GM of Community Services on variances, risks, and change management.
  • Offer regular individual supervision to team members, including professional supervision of Case Coordinator roles.
  • Promote and oversee the implementation of community service initiatives, ensuring their continual success and long-term viability while advocating for client interests.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify program expansion and enhancement opportunities, fostering enduring connections within the community and advocating for necessary resources.
  • Monitor program delivery, ensuring compliance with funding targets, budgets, and regulatory requirements, and advocate for policy changes when needed.
  • Conduct research and data collection to identify emerging social needs and trends, informing proactive solutions for future program development.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting systems, adhering to organisational and regulatory standards while advocating for transparency and accountability in operations.
  • Stay informed about sector developments and actively network with external stakeholders to build effective partnerships.

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager – Community Services.  

Qualifications and Skills 

We seek an individual with outstanding interpersonal skills, genuine compassion, and extensive experience leading community service program delivery.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in social work, social sciences, health, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in community service program development and delivery. Additionally, experience in front-line management roles in community, social justice, and/or financial well-being settings is highly desirable.

Knowledge of and commitment to the ethos, values, and mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society is essential. Membership of the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA) or other relevant professional body is advantageous.

A current (Class C) Driver's License is required, and some out-of-hours work will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory National Police Clearance and employment health check.
