About the role
Casual positions with our new team in the voluntary subacute inpatient care and intervention program based in Dubbo (attached to the Dubbo Hospital) where you will promote recovery and positive change of people with mental illness on evidence based best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Assist people to develop their capacity to live independently in the community and reach their potential
Support clients to develop their own support plans
Collaborate with clients, community, and support agencies such as mental health and housing for integrated and timely services
Monitor and review client’s health, family and cultural progress against their plan and provide up to date progress reports
Provide personalised active supports by promoting independent living, health management and social connectedness
Skills & Experience
Certificate IV in Mental Health or Peer Work
Demonstrated ability to work with people from Diverse Cultural Backgrounds with specific reference to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Demonstrated ability to positively engage, interact and work with people who have complex needs including psychosocial
Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of Mental Health supports, including a comprehensive grasp of the Recovery Framework and its underlying principles
Current First Aid Certificate including CPR
Current Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle with insurance
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check (paid by us).
