Due to our Acciona, MACA, AECOM Alliance being selected as the preferred bidder on the northern package we are seeking to appoint a Community Relations Advisor working out of the Bundoora Project office but moving to site as required.
The Project
The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected as the preferred proponent to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion.
The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes 2km of new freeway upgrade, 3km of new freeway, separation of local roads from the freeway, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Key accountabilities for the position
- Write and contribute to a range of high-quality communication materials, including works notifications, newsletters, advertising content, and formal correspondence as well as coordinate and attend residential door knocks, stakeholder drop-ins, information sessions and briefings and other activities as appropriate
- Assist in identifying stakeholder and community issues and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to minimise and manage impacts
- Assist with the scheduling and conduct of site visits and ensure all visitors to the project have appropriate PPE and undergo relevant site inductions
- Contribute to the development of content for discussion with, and presentation at, regular stakeholder and community meetings as required, including Community Liaison Groups and Business Liaison Groups
- Contribute to the development of a range of project specific stakeholder and community forums including pop up information sessions etc.
- Liaise with construction teams, community and stakeholders to respond promptly and effectively to project 1800 number enquiries and complaints and manage responses in accordance with client approved guidelines
- Promote awareness of community and stakeholder issues, trends and management techniques with the wider project team through contributing to the development and delivery of inductions and toolbox presentations.
- Maintain the project database and other associated records and registers to ensure community and stakeholder interactions and activities are recorded appropriately and in line with agreed client framework.
- Maintain open and proactive communications with the client
Required Skills and Competencies
- A Tertiary Education in Communications or equivalent
- Highly developed communication skills both in person and in written form
- A pro-active and team orientated approach to your work
- Time management skills and being able to prioritise your work
