In a recent Community Perception survey, Community Safety and security was ranked the highest concern for the community. To support our vision: Cockburn – the best place to be – we are seeking a Team Leader in our Community Safety operation, CoSafe.
The Position
CoSafe is a dynamic Community Safety team and as Casual Team Leader you’ll be responsible for the on-road supervision of a response team of CoSafe patrol officers.
If you can imagine what can happen on any given day in a City the size of Cockburn - across the broad spectrum of Community Safety - then you’ll have an understanding of the vast and dynamic role you’ll have as a CoSafe Team Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills and knowledge so you can respond effectively in managing responses to environmental health investigations, animal control, emergency management, bushfire control, CCTV and other circumstances you may encounter.
You’ll bring to this position your very strong analytical and conceptual ability. Essential to this role are your leadership skills to ensure you and your team respond effectively to reports of behaviour that is suspicious or antisocial to provide an intrusive presence in preventing crime. Your ability to understand, assess and communicate risk in dynamic environments will keep you, your team and the community safe. Your advanced communication skills, experience and qualifications from security/police/Community Safety will positively influence community perception of safety and security.
We’ll listen to you as you share your knowledge and experiences, influencing the continuing development of CoSafe as a leading Community Safety team.
The City of Cockburn is seeking natural leaders, with strong negotiation and influencing skills who will respond to numerous types of community needs such as anti-social behaviour, crimes and enforcing Local and State Laws.
Salary: $54.94 to $58.28 depending on qualifications and experience, inclusive of 25% casual loading in lieu of leave entitlements.
Hours: This is a casual contract on an as needs basis, with both day and night shifts offered.
