About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader - Community Safety, the core responsibilities include:
Responding to and investigating reports and concerns relating to alleged breaches of Acts, Regulations and Council Local Laws including animal management and traffic/parking controls
Encouraging and maintaining compliance through enforcement and negotiation and when required, prosecution of breaches against Acts, Regulations and Council Local Laws in accordance with standard operating procedures and work protocols.
Providing clear and effective communication to Council, management, team members and the public in matters related to improving compliance with Acts, Regulations and Local Laws falling within the functions of the Community Safety Team.
Preparing briefs of evidence and providing technical advice to ensure the success of prosecutions and providing feedback and guidance when required.
Liaising with other agencies including police, government departments and other Councils, as required, in relation to enforcement activity, industry developments and staff training and development.
About You
Experience in the investigation of complaints and law enforcement in animal management, parking and local law compliance.
Experience in preparing briefs and giving evidence in the Magistrates’ Court.
Experience in the handling and management of animals, including livestock.
Experience in the hardware and software systems used in local government compliance.
