Upper Hunter Community Services Inc. is an established, successful, and growing community-based organisation that operates 11 state and federally funded programmes. It is based in Muswellbrook and outreaches throughout the Upper Hunter region.
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed individual to become a part of our COMMUNITY SUPPORT team.
This role within the Community Wellbeing Programme will oversee the implementation of innovative COMMUNITY SUPPORT services aimed at promoting community mental health, overall wellbeing, social connections, and life and work skills.
Essential criteria for the position:
- Be highly motivated with proven ability to lead community development projects
- Be passionate about the Muswellbrook community and be able to engage with and advocate for all stakeholders
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven equivalent experience
- Demonstrate past experience coordinating events
- Knowledge and experience in a wide range of software applications,
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to deal with people of all levels of knowledge and ability.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume work environment.
- Proven ability to work as a team member in a cohesive, supportive, and flexible manner.
- Ability to use initiative and work independently.
Key responsibilities for this position:.
- Be responsible for delivering the Community Wellbeing Programme.
- Coordinate and develop partnerships with community and government agencies to secure additional and appropriate services for the target area.
- Identify and access alternate programme and project funding sources.
- Facilitate increased participation in community activities.
- Contribute to and assist in the development of community-based projects and activities.
- Network with external stakeholders, including the council, police, indigenous agencies, residents, and resident groups.
- Organise and contribute to community meetings and workshops.
- Undertake associated administrative duties.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position is based on The Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, SACS Level 4
- 35 hours per week
- Additionally, the organisation enjoys PBI status, enabling salary-sacrificing arrangements up to the value of $15,000 per annum.
- There is a six-month probationary period for this position.
- A current Working with Children Check is essential.
