Work with the Social Worker – Family Domestic Violence (FDV) Project to deliver a program to improve the safety of Aboriginal women and children at risk or experiencing family and domestic violence in the South West and surrounding area. To provide quality, culturally secure case-management, advocacy, support and capacity building services to Aboriginal people in the South West Region. Display a high level of self-management, organisation, and problem-solving ability.
Specific requirements of this position include but are not limited to;
Essential Criteria
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent under section 50(d) Equal Opportunity Act.
- Demonstrated experience or understanding of working with Aboriginal people.
- Demonstrated understanding of the inter-generational impacts of Family Domestic violence.
- Demonstrated experience of providing culturally appropriate advocacy and support services to families, children and individuals, specifically in relation to Family Domestic violence.
- Must reside in the South West and have local knowledge about the community.
- Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to drive to outreach to the Greater Bunbury and South West regions.
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate
Desirable Criteria
- A certificate or tertiary qualification in Community Services, or Mental Health, or Social Work, or similar field.
