Job description

The District Nurses (TDN) has been delivering in home community health care to Tasmanians for over 125 years maintaining a primary healthcare focus in all our services. The District Nurses is a not for profit, charitable organisation that is not affiliated with any residential age care service or religious organisation.

TDN is seeking Part Time and casual Community Support Workers (CSW) in the Launceston and surrounding areas with experience and knowledge to support clients to live independently in their own homes in the community.

Community Support Worker Responsibilities:

  • Basic household cleaning
  • Assisting with meal, snack preparation and hydration based on nutritional requirements
  • Assisting with washing, bathing and/or showering
  • Assisting with dressing and grooming
  • Providing social support
  • Encouraging client independence

Do you have the following attributes?

  • Exceptional customer service and advocacy skills
  • You love to empower clients with choice and independence
  • Enjoys working autonomously
  • Provides client centered care and support
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to perform in a physically demanding role
  • Certificate III Individual Support (Aging or Home & Community)

You will need:

  • A valid unrestricted driver licence as well as a registered and insured road worthy vehicle 
  • National Police Check and Working with vulnerable people check
  • Current first aid certificate
