Company Accountant

Organisational Overview 

Based in Tingalpa, Brisbane, the Grabba Technologies Group integrates the latest biometric and data capture technologies for secure and effective identity solutions. Grabba provides tailored, bespoke solutions to global customers across industries such as border protection, security, policing, banking, retail, operations, and logistics.  Additionally, the Grabba Technologies group includes Crystalaid Manufacture, our AS9100D microelectronics manufacturing facility servicing the defence, aerospace, and medical industries. 

The Role 

The Company Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of duties including various corporate accounting responsibilities such as GST, Tax and board reporting.  The role comes with a high level of autonomy and responsibility and the candidate will need to deliver a consistent, accurate and high-quality service. 

Responsibilities

• Completion of month-end reporting requirements to strict deadlines including analysis and commentary for management
• Monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation and processing of month-end journal entries
• Inter-company transactions/reconciliations 
• Preparation of monthly/quarterly GST/PAYG/FBT reporting obligations
• Oversee Fixed asset register maintenance
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasting
• Assist in year-end audit process 
• Treasury accounting including managing Foreign Exchange transactions 
• Complete taxation related accounting entries.
• Responsible for cash management reporting, forecasting and cash requests.
• Assist with analysis of data to identify efficiencies, cost controls and improved business practices.
• Financial operations including, expenditure approvals, supplier payment arrangements and ledger maintenance.
• Undertake variance analysis on actual to budget/forecast comparatives.

The Successful Applicant

• 5 + years’ experience in a similar accounting position
• Multinational experience – preparation of accounts for multiple entities and operations
• Strong variance analysis and analytical skills
• Proven experience in preparation of annual budgets, BAS and tax returns
• Experience in process and/or system improvements
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills to including formulas, pivot tables
