About the role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accountant will take overall responsibility for the financial analysis and reporting, month end process and production of management accounts.
Responsibilities of the role
- Management of day to day accounting transactions
- Balance sheet and profit and loss statements variance analysis
- Monthly stock flow and cash flow forecast and reporting
- Monthly general ledger account reconciliations including comprehensive stock reconciliation;
- Preparing monthly management accounts with commentary
- Preparation, reconciliation, and lodgement of GST / PAYG / Payroll Tax
- Monthly accruals / journals; Intercompany reconciliations
- Monthly overhead analysis and commentary on actuals vs budget expenditure
- Drive process improvements, automation and streamlining of processes
- Assist with preparation of annual budgets
- Assist and participate in external tax audit and tax management
- FX transactions
To be successful
- Previous experience in an industrial/manufacturing/ importing business
- Tertiary qualifications (CA/CPA)
- Demonstrated knowledge across the full accounting function
- Strong initiative and ability to take ownership and work autonomously
- Ability to manage a busy workload and work under pressure
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work with conflicting timelines
- Excellent communication, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Very strong team player
