Our client, a local company specialised in electricity and solar energy projects, is recruiting a Compliance and Safety Manager to join their team in Darwin.
Your new role
As a Compliance and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Compliance and WHS activities and systems of the organization. This is a full-time permanent role based in Darwin (also available from Alice Springs).
Your key responsibilities will be:
Manage, plan, direct, and coordinate the Compliance and WHS activities of the organization including the implementation on projects.
Ensure that the Compliance and WHS activities of the organization comply with its compliance system and framework, policies, procedures, and legal and regulatory requirements.
Lead the correct implementation of policies and procedures including the delivery of internal audit programs and the facilitation of external audits, and rectification of breaches or areas for improvement.
Update, coordinate and provide staff training on the organization’s Risk, Compliance and WHS Management Frameworks.
Report to the Compliance team on risk, compliance, and WHS management activities.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience working as a HSE Advisor or as a Compliance Manager, preferably on construction or electricity related projects.
Previous experience in the implementation or development of safety systems.
Relevant certification (Certificate IV or higher) in Occupational Health and Safety.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
