Job Summary
The Compliance Manager’s role is to provide support and assistance to Management in the implementation and continual improvement of existing systems that ensure compliance, and the safety of our workers and the heavy vehicle fleet.
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:
Essential
- Working knowledge of current heavy vehicle industry/legislation including Chain of Responsibility, fatigue risk management and load restraint
- Working knowledge of current WHS laws
- Current Qld Driver’s licence (C Class)
- Strong computer/IT skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of current IR laws
- Knowledge of TruckSafe and NHVAS
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- providing information, advice, and support to the management team to help them comply with their obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act and Heavy Vehicle National Law (and other associated regulations and Codes of Practice),
- facilitating and administering inductions, training, and education programs,
- facilitating and administering the driver medical program,
- coordinating the completion of incident reports and participating in investigations,
- record keeping and document control
- monitoring and auditing Fatigue Risk Management practices compliance
- monitoring and auditing Vehicle Standards and Maintenance practices compliance
- overseeing sub-contractor compliance,
- conducting internal compliance audits
- ensuring compliance related activities are relevant, accurate, timely and in accordance with legislative requirements
- Identifying and proposing activities for continuous improvement of compliance processes.
