The Opportunity
As the Compliance Manager you will develop and undertake appropriate monitoring activities to ensure Dexus complies with internal policies and key legislations including the Privacy Act, Spam Act and the Corporations Act. Unique about this compliance role, is its focus on privacy. You will play a lead role on a privacy uplift project, conducting privacy impact assessments, developing training material and associated communications, monitoring compliance exception, remediation and providing privacy reviews to the business. You will also have an opportunity to work on non-privacy focused projects and tasks relating to Dexus’s financial services and property management business.
You will make an impact by:
Supporting the development and maturity of a privacy framework at Dexus that ensures ongoing compliance with Australian and global privacy & data protection obligations
Providing privacy compliance and risk management advise on the development of new initiatives & projects, via the privacy impact assessment process.
Providing support and guidance on regulatory engagement required for privacy complaints and incident investigations
Supporting the business in identifying, documenting and providing impact assessments for regulatory change.
Contributing to the development and implementation of an effective compliance and regulatory framework with a key focus on privacy framework
Developing and undertake appropriate monitoring programs, report findings to the Head of Compliance and ensure the business appropriately addresses identified issues
Reviewing and recommend enhancements to Dexus’s compliance policies including liaising with the relevant business areas to ensure effective implementation
About You
You are regarded as a privacy subject matter expert. A key to your success is your ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally, with a strong focus on relationships. You will bring:
Tertiary qualification in a compliance/risk/legal discipline.
Certified Information Privacy Professional qualifications, which include CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPP/A, CIPM or CIPT (or equivalent) would be regarded but not essential.
Excellent attention to detail, comprehension skills and ability to understand regulatory guides
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a compliance role or similar in the financial services industry, with privacy and data governance experience
Proven ability to understand privacy risks inherent or emerging in a business area, to assess the level of risk and to develop and execute plans to mitigate privacy and data risks
Knowledge and practical experience in the application of regulatory and industry standards including the Privacy Act, Spam Act, GDPR and PCI DSS.
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Conflict management skills
