We are looking for a Configuration Manager to oversee and manage the configuration management of a multi-year high-profile and complex network infrastructure project.
As a Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Identifying, documenting, and controlling the configuration items and their relationships within the network infrastructure in accordance with defence security, architectural, and service management processes, policies, standards, and procedures
- Developing and implementing configuration management plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of the configuration items and their data
- Performing configuration audits and inspections to verify and validate the configuration status and compliance of the configuration items and their data
- Managing and updating the configuration management database and ensuring its accuracy and currency
- Supporting the change management process by reviewing, analysing, and approving the configuration changes and their impacts on the configuration items and their data
- Reporting and communicating the configuration status, progress, and performance to the project manager, sponsor, steering committee, and other relevant parties
- Supporting the configuration items and their data in accordance with defence Service Integration and Management (SIAM) process, policies, and procedures
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field
- Experience in configuration management, preferably in the defence sector or related industries
- Knowledge of common configuration management tools and practices, such as CMDB, ITIL, ISO, or equivalent
- Knowledge of common configuration management standards and frameworks, such as CMMI, COBIT, NIST, or equivalent
- Knowledge of common configuration items and their types, such as hardware, software, network, data, and documentation
- Knowledge of common configuration management processes, such as identification, control, status accounting, audit, and verification
- Certifications such as ITIL, CMMI, COBIT, NIST, or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Previous experience working within the defence force or on defence-related projects
- Have a current NV2 security clearance.
