About the OPPORTUNITYWe have a new opportunity for a
Configuration/Data Controller – Engineering, to join our business on the Hawk Lead-in Fighter (LIF) aircraft program. You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team based in Williamtown (Newcastle), New South Wales and will be employed on a permanent full time basis. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia.This position will require you to work on afternoon shift for one week every month. An afternoon shift loading will be provided when working on afternoon shift.The Hawk Lead-In Fighter is the world's most successful advanced military jet trainer aircraft built on more than 35 years of fast jet training experience. More than 1,000 aircrafts have operated across 18 countries, preparing more than 20,000 pilots for life in a fast-jet cockpit. In 2022, BAE Systems Australia welcomed a $1.5 billion Hawk Lead-In Fighter contract extension that will continue to train Australia's frontline fighter pilots through to 2031.
Key responsibilities include:- Ensure aircraft maintenance documentation and associated activities is coordinated in line with regulations by updating and monitoring the integrity of the maintenance management data base
- Maintain the maintenance Configuration/Data management practices and systems, performing various data management activities
- Provide maintenance configuration and data management advice, support and training to internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to the integrity of the maintenance configuration management system including processes, tools and data
- Collaborate effectively and build good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture
- Provide a range of reports from the maintenance configuration management system
- Identify and investigate maintenance configuration and data problems and initiate corrective actions
About YOU- Configuration data control/management experience or technical experience in a manufacturing/production/engineering environment
- The ability to work on afternoon shift for one week per month
- Good computer literacy skills including the Microsoft Office suite, good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good attention to detail and good communication skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders
- Self-motivation, the ability to learn new concepts and the drive to improve current processes
- Whilst not essential, aviation industry technical experience will be highly regarded
