Control Analyst - Data Access And Behavioural Analytics

The Technology division delivers the Group's information technology and banking operations functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation. Cyber Security protects the bank and our customers from theft, losses and risk events, through effective and proactive management of cyber security, privacy and operational risk,

Your new team:

The Data Access and Behavioural Analytics Team are responsible for the consultation, design, build and operation of group-wide security and identity and access services. The control objective to detect inappropriate access to customer personal information held in CBA applications. This includes;

• Triage of generated alerts and escalation.
• Reporting of control performance.
• Design, build and operation of the UBA control flows.

Your impact and contribution:

As the Control Analyst - Data Access and Behavioural Analytics, you will assist in supporting the design and operating effectiveness of user behaviour analytics controls by using data to drive insights and enhance the cyber control environment.

This role will see you working with various colleagues and stakeholders to scale and manage behavioural analysis capabilities aligned to identity management and ensure that the group can identify potentially suspicious internal inappropriate access to data held in CBA Applications. Your contributions within this role will help ensure that appropriate triage and management strategies are in place to protect the financial wellbeing of our customers and communities.

You will also:

• Work with the User Behaviour Analytics (UBA) Control Manager, Risk Management, Privacy and Business Unit stakeholders across the group, to ensure that anomalous behaviour is detected in key internally accessible systems, and associated remediation are performed to meet the controls objectives.
• Ensure continuous improvement of Data Access anomalous behaviour use cases and processes through the use of automation.
• Support the regular reporting of key risk indicators and control performance to stakeholder and risk groups.
• Support the expansion of control coverage to ensure the controls are implemented across high-risk business areas within the core business units and subsidiaries.
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, project teams, and operational teams so that UBA control(s) are actively being used in the business to reduce risk; exceptions captured, actioned or risk accepted.
• Use data driven insights to develop and enhance use cases that will enable the group to detect suspicious behaviours of staff accessing customer data in applications.
• Assist with managing the UBA capabilities including the product and product roadmaps to ensure relevant stakeholders (inside Cyber, Business Unit Chief Control Offices, Privacy Enforceable Undertaking Program and key stakeholders) understand the goals and requirements related to control deliverables.

As the Control Analyst you will have an understating of working across a large IT function, supporting the organisation with key requirement and initiates. You understand how to gather requirements and build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure the organisation meets its cyber objectives.

You will bring:

• The ability to elicit business requirements and comprehend complex business IT processes.
• An understanding or experience of user behaviour analytics highly desirable.
• The ability to manage a variety of queries support the manager and wider business.
• A strong written and verbal communication skills.
• An analytical approach to problem solving and relish working as part of a collaborative and high-performing team.
• Experience in working with large volumes of data highly regarded e.g., Excel, Power BI etc.
