This role is for an Onshore Pipeline and Brownfield Process Facilities Construction Manager who is skilled at managing a multi-national workforce and who has remote project experience on Oil and Gas and LNG Projects. You will have experience in the construction of oil and gas pipelines, multi-discipline brownfield process facilities upgrades and greenfield scopes, and associated completions, pre-commissioning and commissioning experience and associated facilities and horizontal directional drilling.
The Construction Manager has responsibility for the delivery of the project by managing and overseeing all planning and supervision of construction activities on a project, in a manner that meets planned project outcomes, to ensure that it is completed safely, profitably, on time and in accordance with contract and corporate objectives. The Construction Manager will work closely with and actively support the Project Manager and is the senior site representative responsible for all construction activities.
The Construction Manager will undertake and assist with duties such as:
- Proactively seek ways to improve productivity by altering sequence/timing/ methodology.
- The project program is continually revised and updated and is fully planned out by at least 2-4 weeks.
- Ensure all construction activities are in accordance with the program.
- Hold regular construction meetings with Superintendents to ensure all factors are planned for.
- Provide feedback information on construction progress to the Project Manager and Project Controls Manager to ensure they and all relevant plans are fully up to date at all times.
- Maintain construction employee numbers within the planned limits.
- Maintain plant and equipment levels within the planned limits.
- Provide leadership and direction to subordinate staff.
- Ensure the responsibilities of the Superintendents and Supervisors as the implementers of the construction program, are supported, and reiterated through effective management techniques.
- Ensure all the Quality Control function is well managed and supported.
- Ensure all information relating to resources (people, equipment, materials etc.) is accurate, within project parameters and is provided to the relevant people in a timely manner
- Ensure all the Land Owner Liaison function is well managed and supported.
Qualifications:
- Qualifications of relevant degree (Engineering/Projects) and/or relevant work experience, specifically a minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction supervision.
- International experience in pipeline construction and horizontal directional drilling working FIFO rosters with experience working on major LNG facilities including both pipelines and process facilities
- Superior planning and organisational skills, strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong administration skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to manage people and bring out the best in them in difficult environments, and effectively manage people from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven experience in managing construction processes in a way that incorporates Safety, Quality, Environment, Lands and Cultural Heritage management as integral elements of that procedure.
- Able to work on a fly in/fly out basis and industry standard work cycles.
- Ability to demonstrate position competencies as outlined below.
- Strong commitment to health and safety, and ability to implement compliance with health and safety legislation and all Nacap Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
- Strong commitment to TQM policy, procedures and systems, and ability to lead and implement compliance.
