The Role
We are looking for multiple experienced and skilled individuals to join us in the role of a Construction Operator within the Fill & Services Department. Reporting to the Fill & Services Supervisor, you will be required to construct bulkheads, install paste fill pipes, secondary ventilation fans, carry out hand-held drilling and general construction work. Extensive experience in underground services and construction work and paste fill pipe installation is required. Normet, Heavy/Medium Rigid Truck, Dogger & Riggers and Welding Tickets highly desirable. The roster for this role is on a 7 on 7 off day and night continuous shift.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Installation and ongoing repair and maintenance of underground paste and ventilation systems
- Underground construction projects
- Engaging with a number of department stakeholders to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently
The successful candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a mining/underground operation
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Hard working, reliable and able to work unsupervised
- Strong focus on completing the job safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent troubleshooting & problem solving skills
- Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
- Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
