This multi award winning architectural firm, with a strong portfolio in heritage conservation, is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with local experience to work in a dynamic and creative team. This candidate will have the opportunity to develop a broad portfolio of clients and projects with our firm.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of heritage projects based on a sound knowledge of construction and conservation methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and implement the specific requirements of each project in the context of the project brief;
- Develop project programs, with ability to track changes and keep the project team informed;
- Prepare project documentation for construction including Schedules of Work and Specifications;
- Undertake regular site inspections for quality control and issue meeting minutes;
- Manage contractors to ensure work scope is being followed;
- Identify and assist to resolve issues/defects on site respond to RFIs during construction phase;
- Ensure that variations to scope are recorded, notified and agreed;
- Maintain effective communication with the project team, maintain project administration, and manage and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders;
- Manage a range of projects and deadlines effectively;
- Work both collaboratively and autonomously in a creative and friendly atmosphere.
Background Requirements:
- Background in architecture with suitable practical experience, or Certificate IV in Building and Construction or equivalent, including on-the-job experience and training;
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment;
- 5 + years local experience in the field;
- Class C Drivers Licence;
- Knowledge of heritage architecture and traditional construction preferred;
- Background in architecture or engineering and drafting skills preferred but not essential.
