WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Be responsible for the supervision of project work within the Goonyella Project team, including managing the contractors safety performance, and assisting the Project Manager with managing their quality and schedule performance.
• Be involved in the project throughout the Front End Loading phases to assist the project manager in the design and construction methodology development
• You will support Project Managers for infield objectives and schedule milestones
• Be responsible for a wide range of capital projects, including: Upgrading/improving of mine site infrastructure, processing plant, focusing on mechanical, electrical and civil mine improvement projects and upgrades
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Engage with project stakeholders to ensure alignment to business objectives
• Support project schedule and budget objectives
• Ensure ownership of projects, including stakeholder engagement, monthly KPIs and various internal reporting
• Actively participate in the BHP Field Leadership program
• Lead contractor teams for safety and quality outcomes
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• You are experienced in a diverse construction environment
• You have experience as a tradesmen (Mechanical or Electrical) or operations (civil), or a tertiary related discipline
• A high commitment to safety, quality, attention to detail and procedures
• Ability to influence, engage with & communicate effectively across multiple levels, business units, functional areas and external stakeholders
• Ability to problem solve effectively, work under pressure, and think strategically. For example, supporting various stakeholders with competing priorities, managing those relationships, expectations, and support the Project Manager to formulate appropriate action plans
• Demonstrate effective skills in Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Demonstrate people skills and the ability to be part of a dynamic team with high standards
