In this role, you'll:
- Provide Construction Surveillance and guidance on the Great Western Highway widening project, in Medlow Bath, Blue Mountains NSW
- Oversee utility relocation, pavement works and traffic control including traffic switches in this interesting diverse and complex project.
- Be the sites eyes and ears ensure that everything is running correctly under transports specifications.
- Engage and support community members inquiring on project status and updates.
- Build engaging stakeholder relationships fostering a culture of respectful communication between transport and its contractors
About you
- You'll have a background working in civil infrastructure ideally with an understanding of transport road specifications.
- You don't need to have worked as a Construction Surveillance Officer before however you do have to have a strong understanding of either civil or structures.
- Ideally you would really worked as a team leader or site supervisor, potentially developed your career from an operator or trades background.
- You will have a keen eye for detail with the ability to read, understand and ensure engineering drawings are followed.
- You will be confident in the understanding of site works and know when its appropriate to stop works due to safety, quality, environmental or other issues
- You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and be comfortable liaising with members of the community
- Previous experience and/or understanding of the relocation of utilities would be ideal.
