We currently have an opening for a Boiler & MachineryConsultant Engineer based on Australia’s East Coast. This is a full-time position, reporting to Sam Ricardo, Group Manager Field Engineering.
Candidates must have full, unrestricted working rights for Australia & ability for unrestricted travel globally within 3-6 months of hire to be considered for this role.
Primarily interact with high hazard FM Global clients in the Chemical industry with addition work likely within the Power Generation, Forest Products-Pulp & Paper, Mining and similar industries.Use expertise to consult with clients to protect their facilities against mechanical and electrical breakdowns, fire, and many other hazards.Develop strong client relationships to advise on risks associated with client businesses.Develop and implement risk improvement strategies.The role will work from both an office location and home office, and travel to clients' facilities regularly (approximately up to 60-80 nights per annum), including overnight & international travel.5+ years engineering experience in the chemical industry, and time spent working in the ammonia and fertilizer industries an advantageExposure to Process Safety ManagementKnowledge through the life cycle of large industrial facilities including asset integrity planning and maintenance strategies..Must possess some knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems such as rotating equipment, boilers, generators, pressure vessels system interrelationships and knowledge of safety devices.Demonstrated experience to understand basic machinery and equipment along with hands on exposure.Strong verbal and written communications skills, including fluency in English language.Good analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving skillsEfficient time management ability with work independentlyProven technical capability including diverse knowledge of engineering principlesValid driver’s license + PassportPhysical ability to walk up and down the stairs, lift >12 kilos, balance, and safely working at heightsProficient in MS Office products & comfortable with learning new technologiesBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred, bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered.
