We currently have an opening for a Boiler & MachineryConsultant Engineer based on Australia's East Coast. This is a full-time position, reporting to Sam Ricardo, Group Manager Field Engineering.
Candidates must have full, unrestricted working rights for Australia & ability for unrestricted travel globally within 3-6 months of hire to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Primarily interact with high hazard FM Global clients in the Chemical industry with addition work likely within the Power Generation, Forest Products-Pulp & Paper, Mining and similar industries.
- Use expertise to consult with clients to protect their facilities against mechanical and electrical breakdowns, fire, and many other hazards.
- Develop strong client relationships to advise on risks associated with client businesses.
- Develop and implement risk improvement strategies.
- The role will work from both an office location and home office, and travel to clients' facilities regularly (approximately up to 60-80 nights per annum), including overnight & international travel.
Essential requirements
- 5+ years engineering experience in the chemical industry, and time spent working in the ammonia and fertilizer industries an advantage
- Exposure to Process Safety Management
- Knowledge through the life cycle of large industrial facilities including asset integrity planning and maintenance strategies..
- Must possess some knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems such as rotating equipment, boilers, generators, pressure vessels system interrelationships and knowledge of safety devices.
- Demonstrated experience to understand basic machinery and equipment along with hands on exposure.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including fluency in English language.
- Good analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving skills
- Efficient time management ability with work independently
- Proven technical capability including diverse knowledge of engineering principles
- Valid driver's license + Passport
- Physical ability to walk up and down the stairs, lift >12 kilos, balance, and safely working at heights
- Proficient in MS Office products & comfortable with learning new technologies
Nice to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred, bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered.
