About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Consultant Psychiatrist within the South Australian Intellectual Disability Health Service.
The South Australian Intellectual Disability Health Service (SAIDHS), formerly known as the Centre for Disability Health, is a state-wide, specialised Health Service which provides medical and mental health care for adults with diagnosed Intellectual Disability and complex needs.
As a Consultant, you will be responsible for managing the care of patients in collaboration with SAIDHS multidisciplinary team of Health Professionals. Providing specialist medical services to consumers and contribute to the effectiveness of multi-disciplinary services through:
- Provision of direct Clinical Services
- Proven ability to empathically work with consumers suffering from a mental health disorder and their families/carers and liaise effectively with other agencies.
- Participation in research programs
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
