Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
Hello, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time-consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where and how you can work
Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to hubs in Austin and San Francisco, which are now home to our US operations. So whether you're in Texas or California, you have choice in where and how you work in each of those states. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.
What you’d be doing in this role
We’re looking for a Content Specialist to join our team, who will be focused on producing effective content for our Self Serve audiences (individual Pro users, Self Serve Canva for Teams customers and Print customers). They will be responsible for creating content across a variety of media that showcases the ease and value of Canva so we can empower everyone to design.
This role will work closely with multiple teams and stakeholders to build out content to serve these audiences. This will include collaborating with Product Marketing Managers and Growth Strategists to strategise, create and deploy content. This content could include various outputs such as onboarding tutorials, how-to videos, lifecycle emails, landing pages, UGC and social media videos, display and paid social ad creative, and messaging and marketing copy for multi-channel campaigns.
The successful candidate will be an all-rounder, with the ability to craft creative and engaging learning content for both individual paid users and small teams audiences, effectively collaborate with key stakeholders and brief in creative teams for content production, as well as having great time management skills and a can-do attitude.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Work closely with our Product Marketing and Performance Marketing teams to understand the needs of our prospective and existing Canva Pro, Canva Print and Canva for Teams Self Serve Customers
- Develop a strong understanding of the Canva product and its use cases for these audiences
- Collaborate with a squad including a Product Marketing Manager and Growth Strategist to determine marketing initiatives that will drive product adoption and retention
- Create robust content plans that will have an impact at multiple touch points and funnel stages to support user retention and ARR (annualised recurring revenue) and brief in creative teams
- Create content that drives users to subscribe to paid Canva accounts and educates on how to use the core Canva product and relevant business skills to engage every customer, innovating new ways to help users learn
- Write scripts and create storyboards for videos and digital content, and work with the production team to bring this content to life
You're probably a match if
- Experience educating others through creation and delivery of learning content as well as creating marketing materials
- Strong understanding of the user needs of key audiences, including small businesses and solopreneuers
- Bonus if you’ve previously worked in a SaaS company and have created targeted product content and thought leadership content
- Content creation skills for various formats: able to write and create content with strong copy skills across educational videos, onboarding guides, emails, landing pages, short social media videos and UGC content, marketing campaigns, and other materials as required
- Skills in setting messaging direction, driving briefs and briefing in creative teams for multi-channel campaigns
- An ability to make complex things simple: you’re able to systematically think through processes to create quality branded content
- Make effective decisions: able to prioritise projects based on impact, drive projects forward and ensure we’re meeting team and business goals
- Pursue excellence: you are process-driven, able to manage multiple projects, keep others on track and assess and measure the effectiveness of work
- Confident and clear communication skills: for constant collaboration, engaging presentation delivery and dealing with multiple stakeholders on a day-to-day basis. You will be able to confidently present ideas to your audience and influence them to try new things.
