Position Overview:
Our client, a large Hunter Valley Coal Mine, is on the lookout for a dynamic and seasoned training expert to enhance their Training Division. They’re seeking someone who is not only driven but also brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Your new role
Your Role: You’ll be instrumental in crafting, refining, and delivering top-notch training services that align perfectly with their strategic goals.
Your duties will encompass:
The creation of innovative training content, materials, and methods for both on-the-job and formal occupational training and overseeing the upkeep of educational resources, documentation, and processes, while also assessing and elevating site training strategies.
As a proponent of their learning management system, you’ll spearhead its utilisation and pledge to continuously hone your skills, knowledge, and relationships within the operational spheres on site.
Your expertise will guarantee that the development of training materials is meticulously planned, ensuring that our business objectives are met efficiently and promptly.
As a trusted advisor and subject matter authority on legislative training and licensing mandates, you’ll offer a client-centric advisory service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing comprehensive training solutions from start to finish, tailored to meet operational needs based on thorough skills and training analyses.
- Curating and sustaining a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for site.
- Collaborating with experts to shape training content and evaluations.
- Crafting SCORM-compliant e-learning modules.
- Guiding operational teams on training essentials for risk management and statutory compliance for machinery and equipment.
- Leading the delivery and evaluation of training programs to their workforce.
- Supporting, mentoring, and coaching in-house trainers and assessors.
- Analysing training metrics to furnish strategic advice, enabling the formulation of training initiatives to bridge competency gaps.
- Upholding adherence to all pertinent Coal Industry training regulations.
- Continuously refining our training offerings to mirror industry-leading practices and standards.
- Identifying and executing enhancements within Mt Arthur Coal’s training framework.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience:
- Proficient in the latest skill sets demanded by the Coal Industry.
- A solid track record in content design and development, underpinned by a grasp of national training packages.
- Adept at facilitating a diverse array of content and comfortable instructing team members at all organisational tiers.
- A natural mentor for fellow Trainers and Assessors, especially those new to the field.
- Prior experience with Learning Management Systems, particularly Success Factors, within the Mining/Mineral sector is a plus.
- A goal-oriented individual with a knack for nurturing talent and forging strong, productive relationships on-site to drive excellence.
