This terrific WA construction company is working as subcontractor to Tier 1 head contractors on major civil infrastructure developments in Perth at present including Metronet and MRWA projects. They have strong financial roots and a high-quality management team that requires the support of an additional CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR in their Perth head office for 3-4 months, but with a view to permanency for the right candidate.
About the Role
This vacancy is initially a 3-4 month contract assignment (10 hour days) that will offer some interesting variety as it will involve visiting a couple of major Perth metro sites between Kwinana and Malaga on a weekly basis. It is intended that this role will evolve into a permanent role given current and future new projects expected to be awarded in coming months. This role would be an ideal position for an intermediate level CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR with around 3-7 years’ experience who is looking to remain in the Perth metro region (no FIFO), while working on some of WA’s most iconic infrastructure projects. You will perform CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR tasks across scopes of work that will span earthworks, concrete, roads and drainage. You will be responsible for managing post-award contractual aspects to ensure the company meets their contractual obligations during the project delivery phase whilst also ensuring mitigation of potential risk factors. You will manage subcontractor and supplier agreements, prepare variations, negotiate and manage progress claims and EOTs, prepare delay notices (NoDs) and manage contractual correspondence with the head contractor and subbies. On offer will be a terrific hourly rate of CIRCA $75-80/hr plus super which will be based on your existing level of experience.
Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management/Quantity Surveying or Law
- Approximately 3-7 years’ of civil/industrial/building construction experience for contractors in Australia as a CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR or Quantity Surveyor
- Experience on civil infrastructure such as roads, bridges, concrete, drainage and earthworks, or industrial developments is preferred (NOTE: NOT Client/EPCM)
- Demonstrated experience as a CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR managing claims, variations, EOTs and Notices of delay, for civil construction contractors
- Strong all-round communication skills and attention to detail
- Currently Perth based with existing rights to work in Australia
- Able to supply two favorable references from the last 5 years
- Perth Based Contract, No FIFO!
