About the role
As the Contract and Vendor Management Officer you will be able to maintain strong, successful relationships with customers, partners, and ICT Branch teams to facilitate quality outcomes for Council. This role has a primary focus on driving value from Council’s software assets.
You will work proactively to oversee the software asset management lifecycle across Council by streamlining software procurement processes, annual maintenance and renewal procedures, ensuring compliance and the accuracy of the software asset portfolio.
The role has a primary focus on driving value from Council's software assets and some of your key responsibilities will include:
to identify and maintain accurate information about software assets throughout their lifecycle and relate those assets to software licenses
develop, implement, and manage the tools, processes and procedures required to maintain an effective software asset management lifecycle
proactively review licensing agreements and maintenance contracts to ensure services are current and advise on the decommissioning of any unused services
identify opportunities to optimise, rationalise, consolidate, or replace existing software, including enterprise and volume purchases, to reduce licensing costs and ensure fit-for purpose software solutions
proactively capture and report on savings achieved through benefits realisation or rationalisation

About you
To be successful in this role you will be a problem solver with excellent customer service skills along with:
an excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
completion of tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution in a relevant discipline or associated discipline, and/or substantial experience to carry out the range of duties required.
demonstrated specialised knowledge of ICT products, licensing requirements and contract management.
high level of communications skills to effectively manage key relationships at all levels of the organisation and to influence and provide advice to business representative and decision makers.
ability to research and analyse complex issues and support the development of resolution strategies and advice
About the benefits
This is a permanent, fulltime, Level 5 position with a salary commencing at $93,169 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
