About the Role:
The contractor manager position exists to promote, implement and protect the commercial interests of the GE Renewable Energy business in particular on Uungala Wind Farm, this role is responsible for providing support to the Project Manager and wider project team on a key Onshore Wind project.
The role is demanding and will provide its fair share of challenges in a competitive industry. The right person will find it extremely rewarding and will receive great support within a positive and progressive environment.
Location can be WFH anywhere in Australia.
Hybrid arrangement if you are located in Melbourne or Sydney
Site Location: Uungala Wind Farm, near Dubbo in NSW
Frequent travel to site expectation
12 month contract with strong expectation of extension
Role Responsibilities
- Review the project contractual requirements, and other commercial related documentation as required, and provide a summary to the operational teams;
- Prepare contract notices and other contractual correspondence required for issue to the Customer.
- Review and provide recommendations to the operational teams on variations and claims.
- Assist the Project Manager & Project Director in the finalisation of changes with the Customer;
- Assist the operational teams manage any insurance claims via the GE insurance portal;
- Prepare and provide inputs for project monthly reports
- Implement effective contract management processes and procedures to ensure that all commercial issues and risks are properly identified, managed and resolved;
- Provide timely direction as to the project contractual requirements to other business partners such that no cost or time impacts occur due to non-compliances;
- Build and maintain communication and collaborative partnerships with internal business partners
- Conduct the relevant contractual and commercial training for business partners;
- Conduct regular reviews/ audits of projects with business partners;
- Assist in the identification, reporting and management of business risks and participate as required in any investigation process undertaken.
About You:
Tertiary qualified minimum degree in Engineering, Business, Law or Quantity Surveying.
• Extensive Contract Management experience within the Construction industry.
• Proficiency with the use of written Contracts, Specifications and other project documentation.
• Proficiency with relevant design and construction standards.
• Knowledge of Construction Insurances.
• High level of contractual analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Scheduling and Time Impact Analysis.
• Knowledge of the Security of Payments legislation.
• Good level of financial / cost estimating skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft suite of packages.
• Knowledge of Document Management Systems, eg; SharePoint, Aconex
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.
• Robust negotiation, time management skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work alone to self-imposed deadlines but also work as part of the project team.
Experience in Renewable (wind farm) projects desirable
