The EL 1Contract Manager provides key leadership, control and coordination to the establishment of a more strategic commercial approach that allows Maritime Sustainment Division (MSD) to work collaboratively with its customers and industry partners to shape the industrial construct for the division’s needs, now and into the future. This is a key operating support objective in supporting MSD’s role as the steward and curator of an enduring sovereign sustainment capability.Working closely with a variety of stakeholders you will apply your excellent understanding of contemporary Defence contracting models to produce optimum commercial architecture outcomes. You will also develop, implement, lead and manage a procurement and contracting team supporting the development and management of specific Divisionally managed contracts.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
