To be successful in this role, you are expected to demonstrate the below:
- Understanding of construction materials processes and commercial construction methodology
- Demonstrated contractual and commercial acumen
- Meticulous and thorough approach to work
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to drive positive outcomes with managers, staff and key stakeholders
- A high degree of computer literacy with the ability to rapidly adapt to new software applications
- Minimum of 5 years in contract administration
- Qualification – A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Building Construction, Project Management or Quantity Surveying
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This position is a full-time permanent role, reporting to the Senior Contracts Administrator for the Northcrest Project.
Key responsibilities for the role will consist of, but are not limited to the following:
- Assisting the Senior Contracts Administrator in developing project budgets for approval by Project Manager prior to uploading to project cost control system
- Developing project procurement schedules, prepare tender scopes of work and assist in the award and administration of subcontracts
- Developing an understanding of the Head Contract documents
- Identifying risks and opportunities within each subcontract and supply package for the purpose of maximising Halikos’ commercial position
- Assisting in the implementation and maintaining project cost control and forecasting systems and to prepare financial reports – monthly forecasting and cash flow
- Evaluating subcontractor and supplier progress claims and process payments to subcontractors
- Ensuring that subcontractors and suppliers are completely aware of their obligations with regards to conforming to Halikos’ safety requirements on a project when requesting for a quotation prior to their engagement
- Creating purchase orders for approval and process invoices for sign off prior to forwarding to accounts department
- Assisting in the preparation of reports to the Client as required
- Maintaining project registers and providing support to Project and Site Engineering staff
