Estimating & Contract Manager Job Description (But not limited too)
- Undertake Vetting of Tender & Client
- Search for Commercial Roofing Projects and submit to Operations Manager for vetting.
- Prepare estimates for Commercial Roofing Projects.
- Prepares accurate pricing of estimates with the proper level of detail, including labour, material, and subcontract items.
- Research and review construction and design documents and analyses specifications to determine estimated costs.
- Critically analyses bid documents and understands risk and opportunities and articulates those to management.
- Prepares quantity take-offs and estimates costs of materials, labour, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of the contract.
- Solicits sub-contractor’s bids and material supplier quotations and determines acceptable bids by comparing to self-perform estimates.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops maintaining the project cost history.
- Collaborates with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy and conformity to fulfill all provisions of contract requirements.
- Develops cost estimates for Variation Orders*
- Prepare and presents estimates to management.
- Recommends and incorporates cost-reduction options for more competitive bids.
- Attend project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required.
- Prepares and maintains a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
- Identify and evaluates all the technical issues that are related to projects.
- Ensure that a quality submission is included along with an estimated price when bidding for new work.
- Assessing material, labour, and equipment that are required, and analysing various quotes from different subcontractors and suppliers at negotiated rates to win competitive contracts while keeping a close eye on profit margins.
- Keep current on market conditions and construction industry trends and disseminates information to team.
- Review lost bids with Operations Manager
- Undertaking contract analysis and providing advice to the business
- Review and update existing contracts.
- Explain terms and conditions to managers and interested parties.
- Maintain organized system of physical and digital records.
- Ensure that employees understand and comply with company contracts.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder and supplier relationships to identify and minimise risk and maximise the value from the contract.
- Proactively identify and manage contract risks to meet organisational obligations and achieve the planned outcomes of the contract.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of contract management plans by sourcing documents and established contracts, as well as monitoring performance and addressing non-performance, to achieve the required contract outcomes.
- Interpret and explain contract requirements, and terms and conditions to stakeholders to support compliance with statutory and policy requirements and inform decision-making.
