Job description

Predictive Recruitment Partners has been engaged by Trasan Contracting to find a dedicated, results-oriented, and quality-conscious person to take up the newly created position of Contracts Manger in Karratha, Western Australia.

About Trasan:
Trasan is a dynamic company dedicated to delivering top-tier infrastructure and construction services to the Pilbara Region. We take pride in our commitment to excellence, ensuring that every project we undertake is managed with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail.

At Trasan, our project management service is renowned for its high quality. We prioritise the satisfaction of both our clients and our employees, understanding that the dedication and expertise of our staff are essential to achieving exceptional results. We foster a culture of trust and collaboration, empowering our team members to deliver quality outcomes that consistently exceed expectations.

If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact in the infrastructure and construction industry and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment, we welcome you to join our team at Trasan.

About the role:
The Contracts Manager role is essential to ensuring our success and continued growth in the infrastructure and construction space in the Pilbara Region.

Reporting directly to the Business Manager, you will be responsible primarily for ensuring we are compliant with the terms of agreed contracts and maintaining the integrity of our systems and procedures.

The role has a degree of flexibility, with the expectation that you will be in the office for 70% of your time, but able to work from home, remotely, for approximately 30% of the time.

At any one time we have a number of projects on the go simultaneously, in various stages of completion.  The pace of work is fast and there is a need to handle a variety of activities and changing priorities as part of the daily operations.   The focus of the work is mostly technical, working within established guidelines, however, some communication with clients is required.  There is a high expectation that work will meet quality standards without having to be checked by others.

It will see you day to day:

  • Checking through contracts to ensure compliance
  • Proofreading your own work as well as that of others
  • Developing checklists to create greater efficiencies and compliance
  • Managing our asset registers and entering variations to contract into our log to ensure they are invoiced correctly
  • Issuing warranty certificates
  • Managing our certifications
  • Scheduling and briefing labour for each contract.

About you:
You probably describe yourself as a conscientious, thorough, and disciplined person who takes pride in delivering high-quality products and services.  You are precise and accurate, technically oriented, and enjoy working in a professional environment where everyone is clear on their tasks and duties and people take accountability for their own actions.

You are driven to achieve results in a fast-paced environment, yet you never compromise on quality.  You are cautious and careful, preferring to double-check work to remove the risk of error.  While you are open to change, you naturally seek to analyse and test ideas for efficacy before adopting them.

You’re comfortable working alone with your head down, focused on solving problems and ensuring the work you are doing is compliant with rules, laws, and established guidelines.

Your colleagues might describe you as somewhat reserved and quiet, but very sincere and diligent in your approach to work.

You’re not afraid of holding others to account for the quality of their output and will follow up thoroughly to ensure deadlines are met and rules are adhered to.

What you bring to the role:

  • A high degree of specialised expertise in maintaining established standards
  • Rigorous adherence to rules and standards of quality
  • Accuracy and precision in all that you do
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision within established procedures
  • A desire to work at a faster than average pace without compromising on quality output
  • Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to work to achieve results
  • Cautious analysis of problems while applying ingenuity and creativity
  • A high regard for authority, autonomy, and accountability
  • The ability to earn trust through competence in the role
  • Comfortable in a high-pressure work environment.

What we can provide:
In return for a 50-hour week, we offer a competitive remuneration package in the range of $135,000 - $150,000 plus super, and including an RDO once per month, Remote Area Benefits Rent Salary Packaging, 2 return flights to Perth each year after 12 months of service, and 4 weeks’ annual leave.

Our culture is all about delivering exceptional quality and recognising the effort that goes into maintaining our standards and producing work that surpasses client expectations.

What you must have to apply for this role:

  • Between 3 - 5 years’ experience in contracts management
  • Exceptional skills in Excel and project management software
  • A valid Australian drivers’ licence
  • The right to work without restriction in Australia

You will be highly regarded if you also have:

  • A legal background
  • Certifications or qualifications in OHS, QA, ESG.
