Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability.

For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

Are you interested in leading a team responsible to monitor and support improved contractual performance and results? The NDIA Partner Contracts Branch is seeking a dedicated EL2 Director Contract Management with expertise in Contract Management, performance management and / or program management. They will be expected to lead a team that provides the NDIA with assurance that our partners are meeting their contractual obligations and play a leading role in implementing systems and processes to gain best value in the delivery of contracted services.

Where you can add value
The EL2 Director Contract Management is a team leadership role, responsible for ensuring contract assurance and compliance, and actioning contract variations throughout the contract lifecycle. They will also be responsible for representing the Agency’s position, whether in contract negotiations or in discussing and reaching agreement with Partners on contractual and performance matters during the agreement term.   
 
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Designing, developing, implementing and managing process disciplines and management systems to monitor performance and results.
  • Preparing and negotiating complex agreements, leading contract establishment, variations, and extensions throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Leading regular review of agreement terms and conditions to align with legislative changes, policy updates, practices improvement or changing priorities.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure contract outcomes fulfil wider business area requirements.
  • Establishing, reviewing, and maintaining corporate governance, assurance, compliance, audit and record keeping practices.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong Contract Management background and excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to engage and build relationships with executives external to the Agency. They will be a mentor and coach and bring a continuous improvement mindset to the role to support and build up the team’s capability. They will also have a passion or keen interest in improving and implementing systems and processes.

Most importantly, they will be an excellent people leader and show care for the people they work with.

We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.

A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing and non-ongoing) within the next 18 months.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
